I missed a few days painting last week due to other things getting in the way, gremlins in my laptop and hospital appointments left me feeling to tired to paint. hopefully back on form this week :)

I don't now why but all the pomegranates in the shops at the moment seem to have their crown like tops sliced off! this one had one little piece that was missed.

Here is the lates fruit with its sticker still on it. I enjoy painting small details and these labels are qite a challenge, the actual size is about the same as my thumb nail.

I have been painting a lot with dark backgrounds the last few weeks, so back to lighter ones for a bit.

This is the first time I have painted a slice of orange, so after painting this one I also did a small 10cm sq orange slice, it will be on ebay in the next day or so.

I know I keep on mentioning new paintings with my new paints, but I will be listing the first one in the next few days,  I have been waiting to see how they looked when dry, I will be varnishing the first few tomorrow.

I thought this Pomegranate and Clementine would look good together, the colours worked well and the clementine skin picked up a bit of red reflection from the Pom.

I usually google  my fruit combinations to see what comes up, so following on from my last posts Christmas theme  I found a Christmas party drink called Pomegranate crush. you can see the recipe here.

The Pomegranate again! this time with half a kiwi fruit and a cherry. I can count one one had the times I have painted a Kiwi fruit, I find it hard to get the colour just right, but I liked the combination of the reds and green in this painting.

A Pomegranate for today's painting. I haven't painted a Pom for a while as I haven't been able to get a nice one, and as I paint all the dailys from life rather than using photos I have to use whatever I can get. This one has a lovely rich red colour to it with hints of yellow and pink in places.
