Some more fruit from our garden, we have had a great crop of Raspberries again this year, and Dad is still picking the Blackcurrants there are so many! I used some of the Blackcurrants this weekend to make some Blackcurrant vodka, not sure what it will taste like but it should be great by Christmas.

Daily painting #69

Pomegranate with Raspberries
5 x 7 inch oil

I haven't painted a Pomegranate for a while so here is another one, This one was more orange and red, the last one I painted was a more pinky in colour, its all a bit red, but I thought the Raspberries would look good in this one.

Daily painting #50

Cantaloupe with Raspberry
5 x 7 inch oil
SOLD
I can't believe I am up to No. 50 already! Today's painting was another first for me, I have never painted a Cantaloupe, or any other Melon before, but I chose this melon because of its great colour and the pinky red of the Raspberry looked great together. Not sure yet what to paint for 51, it may be grapes.

Daily painting #45

Apple and Raspberries
5 x 7 inch oil on canvas board
SOLD
Granny Smith Apple again for today, we are still picking lots of Raspberries every day at the moment, so they had to feature in this one. My ebay listings are looking a bit green for the last four days, so not decided yet what to paint for tomorrow's painting, I have some plums, grapes and a melon from the shops and  raspberries and blackcurrants from the garden, I will google some fruity combinations later to see what will go well together, I have found all sorts of recipes for various fruit combos!

Daily painting #41

Lemon with Raspberries
5 x 7 inch oil on canvas board
SOLD
Another Lemon for today's painting. I am getting more confident painting lemons, as I have said before, my first few lemon paintings I found quite a challenge, its getting the yellow colour right in the shadows that I had a problem with. This was my first go at Lemon halves, I've done wedges before but they didn't have all the segments. I am very happy with how this one turned out.
Lots more fruit coming up, I bought Grapes, red and green ones, plums and a cantaloupe melon today.

Daily painting #33

Raspberries with Cider Bottle
5 x 7 inch oil on canvas board
SOLD
For today's painting I had another go at painting Raspberries, this is only my second time painting them, they are quite fiddly to paint this small and I had to use one of my new small brushes, I am a bit of a brush collector, I have lots of brushes, but usually end up using the same few.
For the Raspberries I used a mix of  Permanent Rose and Winsor red.

Daily painting #32

Pear with Raspberries
5 x 7 inch oil on canvas board
SOLD

The Raspberries are ready in the garden, so I had to paint them today. This is the first time I have ever painted Raspberries, I think they turned out ok. This was the last of the Forelle pears for the moment, the next pears coming up will be the conference variety, I find them much nicer to eat than these.
There will be more Raspberry paintings coming up soon.
