Daily painting #150

Clementine with pewter
5 x 7 inch oil
SOLD

I used the pewter tankard again today, the composition of these last three paintings has been quite different for me, I usually have the whole of an object in the painting, I have been running out of smaller items so it will be good to paint more like this.

Dailt painting #131

Pewter Tankard with Clementine & Cranberry
5 x 7 inch oil

A bit of a Christmas theme to today's painting, as kids my sister and I would always get a Clementine or tangerine in our stocking from Santa, and the cranberries are just a classic christmas fruit.

Daily painting #118

Pewter with Cherries & berries
5 x 7 inch oil
SOLD
I thought my pewter tankard would go well with these small fruits, the pewter is just shiny enough to reflect a little colour from the cherries, but not so shiny that it would reflect everything around.
I have been busy tonight, priming more canvas boards, it only seems like yesterday that I did the last lot. I like the canvas to be quite smooth, so I take time to prime, sand, and so on.

I got back to the dailys today after a couple of days of other things. This pewter tankard is another one of mum's finds in Ruthin, its a bit bashed in places, but it has a great hammered texture.
