Pomegranate and Orange

Pomegranate & Orange
15 x 15 cm oil

I have been painting a lot with dark backgrounds the last few weeks, so back to lighter ones for a bit.
This is the first time I have painted a slice of orange, so after painting this one I also did a small 10cm sq orange slice, it will be on ebay in the next day or so.

Tomato

Tomato
15 x 15 cm oil
sold

Another Tomato painting for tonights listing. I am finding tomatoes quite fun and quite challenging to paint well, the skin is so smooth and the colour is so even and the light reflects all over the place on them. Fast becoming a fave to paint is the little water droplets, but I still need to do more to get them just right.

Pewter with Raspberries

Pewter with raspberries
15 x 15 cm oil
Sold

These were the first raspberries this year that were picked from our garden. Raspberries are quite a fiddle to paint at first, and these are the fist ones I have painted this year I think. I am finding it a bit tricky to get the colour of them spot on, for these I used Cad red deep & Perm Alizarin Crimson.
I will be painting more raspberries soon as we have loads of them.

Red Apple on cloth

Red Apple on cloth
15 x15 cm oil
Sold

I am really enjoying painting cloths at the moment so here is another one, the cloth takes a while to set up to get the folds looking good, I have used a cardboard box for this set up, the cloth was pegged around the edges and pushed inside to get the folds in the background and the apple just sat nicely into it.
