Daily painting #90

Red Apple on Plinth
7 x 5 inch oil
SOLD
This piece of fruit is one of those that I just have to paint over and over again, I have had such a job getting a nice red apple, I am making the most of this one!, and as Dad took the time to make the wooden plinth for me I had better make use of that as well.

Daily painting #80

Pom on a Plinth
7 x 5 inch oil
SOLD
I am a little late posting  this one on here, it was painted on Tuesday. The plinth in the painting was made for me by my Dad, I made up one from cardboard first to test its size with various fruits and then Dad made the final one from wood, he also turned me a round one.

Daily painting #78

Williams Pear on Yew block
7 x 5 inch Oil
SOLD
For today's painting I had this great Red Williams pear, it looked so nice it had to be on its own, you don't often find fruit with leaves still on them any more, my mum spotted this one in Tescos in Ruthin, it was the only one with a leaf so I had to have it, and thanks to the guy on the tills for being gentle with it!
The block it's on is a wood turned piece of Yew.

Daily painting #10

Pomegranate
7 x 5 inch oil on canvas board
SOLD

Just a simple Pomegranate for today. It is just sat on the edge of the chopping block, I liked the way the sunlight just bounced of the board and lit up a little patch behind it, and the rich pink colour is one you don't find in many other fruit.

Daily painting #6

Pear on the Block
7 x 5 inch Oil on canvas board
SOLD
I think I should have called this one Pear on the mental block!, I had a busy morning sorting parcels to be sent out, and worrying if the courier I had booked online was going to come, the courier arrived and I sent off my painting for exhibition at the Patchings art centre, Nottingham. I will post details of the exhibition once I know my painting has arrived safely!.
After lunch it was painting time. I had some Apples, Pears, Strawberries and a Pineapple to choose from, but none of them really worked well together in a small painting, A lot of rearranging later I ended up with just a pear and this block of wood. It's funny how simple things work best in the end.

Daily painting #4

Pear with Cherries
7 x 5 Oil on canvas board
SOLD

For today's painting I stuck with the cherries I bought the other day before they started to shrivel up. For this painting I used and old crate that I rescued from being taken to the the tip, its a bit battered and broken but I like it! and the Pear fitted in nicely in the corner.
