Daily painting #114

Lemon and Lime on cloth

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

I had a weekend off from painting, as it was Mum's and my birthdays last week, so we went for a meal on Saturday night and I had a lazy day on Sunday.

Back to painting today, so here are two of my favourite fruits, Lemon and Lime.

I have also been working on some small 10cm square canvas boards today, will post pics soon.

Daily painting #113

Apple and Pear

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

We have got lots of apples in the house at the moment, we only have two very small trees, but they do produce a lot of fruit, and they are a nice red colour.

I also picked some more strawberries from the greenhouse today, they are only little ones, but its great to still be picking them this late in the year.

Daily painting #112

Clementine

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

I stuck with the fruit on cloth again for today's painting, but the cloth is a bit plainer for this one. I think this is only the third time a clementine has featured in one of my daily paintings, I don't seem to use orange paint much at all, so this was a nice change.

Daily painting #111

Red Apple on cloth

7 x 5 inch

SOLD

Sorry I have missed a couple of days painting this week, we had family visiting. This Apple is one from our garden, the cloth is the same one as the other day to match up with the pear.

Daily painting #110

Pewter with Pears

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

Another Plum painting today, The little pewter tankard is one that Mum found one day in a little second hand place in Ruthin, its a bit bashed up, but its a good size and it has a nice hammered texture.

Daily painting #109

Plum Trio

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

I have only painted Plums a few times, I tend to overlook them in the shops for some reason. This set up is the same as I did for figs a week or so ago, and the lighter background work's well with the rich red colour. the background is Paynes grey and white mix.

Daily painting #108

Comice Pear on cloth

7 x 5 inch oil

SOLD

Comice Pear on cloth, I have done a similar painting to this before, but last time it was a red pear, so here is the green version.

I have some Plums for the next painting, and I also hope to get another video filmed in the next few days.

Daily painting #107

Comice Pears

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

A pair of Comice Pears for today, I haven't painted Comice pears before, they are very similar in colour to conference pears, but they are more short and round in shape.

Daily painting #106

Lime on cloth

7 x 5 inch oil

A Lime for today, to match up with yesterdays Lemon on cloth.

I have another variety of Pear to paint tomorrow, I didn't know there were so many different Pears availabe until I started the daily paintings.

Daily painting #105

Lemon on cloth

7 x 5 inch oil

SOLD

Just a Lemon for today. I remember at the start of these daily paintings I didn't like painting lemons at all, I now find them to be one of my favourite fruits to paint, it must be all the practice!. I think I will do a matching cloth with a Lime next.

Daily painting #104

Choc chip & Cherry Cupcake

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

My second cupcake for today's painting, this time I added some choc chips on the top. I think I will have to get some baking done and make some different cakes.

Daily painting #103

Three Little Figs

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

I Thought these Figs were such a nice colour and shape they would look good on their own, I think it has turned out ok, and the lighter background worked better than my usual dark colour.

Daily painting #102

Charlie's Apple with Pewter

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

Today's painting is called Charlie's Apple with Pewter, Its hard to get apples with leaves on them if you don't have your own apple tree, so I have to thank Charlie from John Jones & Son Butchers, Ruthin for getting me a few. Thanks Charlie!

Daily painting #101

Red Pear with Fig

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

For today's painting I had a red william pear and a fig, I haven't painted many figs as I don't like to eat them, but they were on offer at the supermarket, so they will just be painted. They are a nice colour, so different to my usual fruit.

Daily painting #100

Cherry Cupcake

7 x 5 inch oil

SOLD

My 100th daily painting! I thought I should do something to mark my 100th so I got some cupcakes and added the cherry on the top. I haven't painted a cupcake in oils before, the case was a bit tricky, I am used to painting cupcake cases in acrylic, this was fun to paint, so I may have to do some more cakes.

Daily painting #99

Red Williams Pear on cloth

7 x 5 inch oil

SOLD

Another fruit on cloth for No.99 , the trim on this one is slightly different from last time, I am enjoying doing more detailed elements in the daily paintings, and I think the lace cloth works well with a single fruit.

Daily painting #98

Cherries on cloth

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

I love painting cherries! so here is another trio, I am so glad I am still able to get nice cherries, I am sure as winter comes nearer they will be harder to get, and more expensive.

I can hardly believe I will be doing my 100th daily painting this week, not sure what it will be yet, but I couldn't have got this far without all my brilliant eBay customers, so Thank you!

Conker Video

This is my third video so far, and I have got this one down to just less than 4 minutes,  The conker is from a tree in the village that I used to go to as a kid to gather conkers, brought back good memories of throwing sticks up at the tree to get more down.

Daily painting #97

Pear and Cherry on cloth

7 x 5 inch oil

SOLD

I don't paint this cloth to often, so it came out again today for this painting, I enjoy painting more detailed items, I was just going to have the pear on its own for this one, but as I had some cherries I just had to add one.

I have had quite a busy day today, I also made a new painting video, I just need to edit all the clips together so I will post it very soon.

Daily painting #96

Apple and Pear

5 x 7 inch oil

SOLD

Another Apple and Pear for today's painting, the last time I painted these fruits together it was a red pear and a green apple, so here they are the other way round. I think tomorrows painting will be another pear with a cherry.

I took a walk today with Mum and the dog to the conker tree we used to go to as kids, collected quite a few conkers so they will feature in a painting this week.

I also made a new video over the weekend, that will be in my next post.

Daily painting #94

Berries on Cloth

5 x 7 inch Oil

SOLD

I haven't painted anything on this cloth for a while, so today I chose a strawberry and a few blueberries, as this is one of my daily paintings the cloth is not quite as detailed as I have done before, but it still looks good.

Daily painting #93

Crab Apples and Rose hips

I found these crab apples that had fallen from the tree at the side of the road, I managed to get quite a handful of them, and the rose hips are all over the place in the hedgerows. I also found some Walnuts a bit further along the road.

Daily painting #92

Cherries again for today's painting, with some Blueberries this time, I will also be doing another small 10cm sq with these fruits tomorrow.

I am sorry I have missed a few daily painting over the last few weeks, I have problems with my Hips and back and they have been troublesome recently, but I am trying to get back up to speed!

Daily painting #91

Apples and Blackberries

5 x 7 inch Oil

SOLD

For today's painting I didn't have to go anywhere to get the fruit, it all came from the garden, the apples are quite small as I just picked up some that had fallen.

Daily painting #90

Red Apple on Plinth

7 x 5 inch oil

SOLD

This piece of fruit is one of those that I just have to paint over and over again, I have had such a job getting a nice red apple, I am making the most of this one!, and as Dad took the time to make the wooden plinth for me I had better make use of that as well.

Daily painting #89

Apple Trio

5 x 7 inch Oil

SOLD

I had all these apples so I though I would paint one of each, I'm not sure what variety the red one is, but the green one is Granny Smith and the small one is Discovery, we have a load of apples in the garden as well and they are a totally different colour again.

I hope to also get another video done this week, I really enjoyed making the first one, and have had some great comments about it.

Cherries
